After graduating South Dade High school Jennifer sharpened her skills both as a singer and spokes model in pageant competitions in Florida. She won the title Miss Homestead. "Children are Mentors of the Future" was Jennifer's platform utilizing her platform as a mentor in her community and her talents she went on to be the youngest contestant to compete for the Miss Florida Crown. Being a pageant girl was no easy task as the National Anthem Girl in her hometown "Homestead" she waited tables and tended bar while working on a degree in Production and Broadcasting in Television and Radio at Miami Dade College. It was here that Jennifer’s determined focus and hard work ethic would pay off for her as she slept on the board walk the night before auditions for some 2700 people for Fox Television’s American Idol. She was not only heard but would be chosen to compete out of a total of 60,000 contestants. With the backing of the whole City of Miami, Jennifer would steal the heart of an entire nation as one of the top 30 finalists of American Idol. This started a whirl wind of media coverage and appearances...Channel 10's Gimmie the Mic in 2003, Colgate Thunder Radio Country Showdown I 2003, NBC 6 Rick Sanchez show in 2003, a runner up contestant of the Miss. Carnival Miami 2004 and these are just to name a few of the challenges and successes made! Even Jennifer’s work ethic has been extraordinary as she would be called upon for Television, Radio and Printed media like the Daily News, USA Today, People Magazine, YM Magazine, Latina Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, even a stunning performance at The White House and more!
All of this then Jennifer was honored by Miami-Dade Mayor Alex Penelas and City of Homestead Mayor Roscoe Warren with the proclamation of December 6th being Jennifer Fuentes day! The call of a lifetime was…to run away with the circus! Jennifer, traveled for almost over 3 years with “The Greatest Show on Earth”, she can hardly believe her good fortune. Part Ringmaster, part story telling songstress, part dream weaver Jennifer’s Hard work ethic continues. She performs as many as 13 shows a week with Ringling Brothers in addition to her duties as a spokes person and ambassador of the Circus to Radio, Television, National Papers, Families and children of all ages across the entire nation. She has now toured virtually the entire United States twice, leaving a part of her heart, dreams and aspirations to millions of faces as a mentor. Leaving an impact on many cultural communities from one city, to the next city, and to the next and she shows no sign of slowing down. She says “I am very fortunate now through all of my grand experiences, I encourage and help make dreams come true while I watch my own dreams come to fruition”.
